Served 4.5 years, finished up honorably. Now I get paid the cost of living to go to school free. Best decision I ever made.

you serve first before they pay you for school?
thats the states?

in canada you go to school get paid and its free, then you serve your contract out.

Oh rly? I'll do a quick research

You're right.

''In return for paying for your education, the Forces requires you to serve in the forces for a period of time following graduation. Time served is calculated on the basis of two months service for each month of paid education.''

i used to live on base in kingston and worked out at the base gym and met a lot of people at RMC.
90% of the people ive met in the military could be stereotyped as "nerdy" .

by that i mean

not a huge social following
scrawny and unathletic
hobbies that are more uncommon kinda thing.

but all of them were pretty great and amazing people.

Hey Dan, my brothers roommate was JTF2 before he "retired" due to extreme PTSD. Now he has a service dog, and doesn't do much of anything. He's pretty messed up about shit when you talk to him.

On the same note however, before fire I went through for fighter pilot and was accepted to RMC. Turned it down because fire offered me a job right before. I'm going through for reserves right now though
