Agree with you 100%. *Bodybuilders* think they know what's healthy... Here is a video for pete:

That was hard to watch. Whoever that is should not be taken seriously. The body will not become alkaline through diet as the ph in the blood is regulated to stay at its ph level. The alkaline diet (or any diet) will not cure someone’s cancer without medical treatment. Also while vitamin c therapy has been shown to be beneficial when it is used in combination with chemotherapy it is not used as a standalone treatment to treat cancer.

I gave it my best shot to watch this but I could only stand 2 minutes. Everything this guy is saying is completely false and it makes me sad that people just listen to what he says.

i feel like doctors are one of those things everybody should have common knowledge about, but you guys don't, it's kind of silly. hell there's even a few regulars here who are studying to be doctors themselves, right?

what's even MORE silly though, is as regulars of a forum called "health and fitness", you're all so ignorant about nutrition as well... aside from typing in your daily macros into a calculator

most amusing

You know whats even MORE silly?

People refusing treatment for treatable cancers and going after them the 'natural' or hollistic way. Only to have the cancer become worse and worse - to the point where the chance of survival is reduced from 90%+ to 10%. Before you say what I'm saying is just conjecture, my sister is a nurse on a cancer ward and sees it happen all the time.

Spreading of mis-information because you thinking you're way is the only way is ridiculous. Humans have survived on multiple diets, ranging from JUST meat to plants. To think that there is one end all be-all diet, is hilariously short sighted.

Just remember, 3+6=9 but so does 5+4.

People were upset because he asked for money then posted a video of him in Italy a short time later. Personally I think he's a shady piece of shit but I wouldnt wish Cancer on anyone.

i understand your point, but i don't see much room for speculation on the matter. it's very black and white. i'm not a vegan, and have no agenda to promote. i just have a very hard time turning a blind eye toward hard facts and scientific research.

nobody, in this thread or in any of the videos posted, even came close to suggesting diet as a cure for cancer. this is a very bad misunderstanding on your part and is kind of outrageous. it'd be like suggesting to somebody who has lung cancer to stay away from cigarette smoke to be cured. it's more about the individual using the facts available to them to push the odds in their favor, even in the slightest way.

my uncle who's been a smoker for 60 years and has a heaping plate of spicy italian sausage every Sunday night is approaching 80 and is still kicking, and i bet you know somebody who's like that too, so your "humans have survived" argument is totally arbitrary

it's a real shame that a group of people who post in a subforum that's about living healthy will deliberately misunderstand simple information and twist words around to suit their irrational neuroses.

/e I JUST WANNA SEE PETE MAKE IT THRU THIS :(

You didn't watch the video pop posted since he clearly stated alkaline diet to cure cancer. That's the video we both responded to so there was no misunderstanding on our part.

There really isnt much to respond to your post beyond 'I disagree'. I dont really get what you want me to say. You didnt post any research or anything that could be debated, hell you didnt even state if you are pro-veganism or against it. I assume from the tone of your post, you are pro-veganism.

That being said, if you'd like to post some research articles proving that veganism is indeed the best diet I'd be more than interested to read them.

Edit:

I'd implore you to read this article: http://authoritynutrition.com/top-11-biggest-lies-about-vegan-diets/

I think a balanced omnivore diet can be healthy. Most of the studies that I've seen compare Vegans to "average" people. Personally I'd say I eat a "healthier" diet than the average person, and therefore none of these studies apply. If you're comparing someone who rarely gets the correct intake of fruits and vegetables, eats processed sugars, doesnt exercise regularly etc. They are obviously going to be 'sicker' and less healthy than someone who consumes a vegan style diet.

Then there are the articles that have people begin eating a vegan or vegetarian style diet. But most of these research papers also have the people begin exercising, quit smoking, etc. All things that can drastically change the health of a person.

Anyways, read the article, post back with why I'm wrong and post some sources. The article I posted has links to research papers done by medical institutions.

Ty men

of course he was in italy, it was to compete for the guiness book of records and he was flown there by sponsors (professional eating was his main source of income)
nothing was out of his pocket as it was all paid for.

yet the vet bills he posted were indeed real and were paid for by the donations of people who helped.

Yeah people who take advantage of others are the worst type of people. People like the "doctor" in the vid you posted are knowingly taking advantage of others and have more than likely caused a large number of deaths due to people thinking they can cure their cancer through diet instead of seeking medical treatment.
