I'm a bit of a lurker because I don't even go to the gym anymore but i wouldn't be surprised if you gave me a week I could rip off 20 chinups. Pullups on the other hand, no.
I never did chinups with any frequency but when I went to the gym I did as many as I could and got 25. 40-60 seems unrealistic but I doubt it is impossible.
As for the DL contest would it be better perhaps and would get more entries if the weight wasn't 2x body weight but maybe 1.5x or 1.75x?
I could probably do 1 or 2 but I'm not going to risk that, I tore my hamstring real bad a couple months ago so...
