Why do people love Quest Bars so much? You do realize that the nutritional label is too good to be true, right?
Quest makes their protein bars with isomalto-oligosaccharides (IMOs) aka the "fiber" in the bars. They don't factor in the calories in IMOs which is roughly ~2kcals/gram. Shocking isn't it? Quest Bars don't ACTUALLY have 20g of fiber in them!
Next, we see monk fruit in it (lo han guo I believe which is a chinese monk fruit which is essentially stevia/splenda). I'm not too familiar with this sweetener which is what really concerns me. I haven't been able to find good research on it yet.
Generally if you think "this is too good to be true" it is.
that's actually not a true statement either.
there isn't conclusive evidence pointing either way
