At night it is usually 40-45

i believe u

on a side note what other mechanisms does the body use for adaptation other than more efficient blood flow/ lower hr?

I was at around 60 before i started triathlon training and im two weeks away from competing and it's still pretty much the same.

It's odd because I'll swim a mile non stop and be fairly tired and I get out of the pool and within 20 seconds I'm not even breathing hard

My cardiovascular endurance has increased while my hr has remained basically the same

Back in the day when I ran it was always below 45.

Now I'm high 40's, low 50's

Lowest on my S5 was 52bpm, just checked and its at 70.

Remember resting heart rate can range from 60-100 and you'll be healthy. If you have superior cardiac function you may be just fine below 60, the record I believe is 28bpm.

Any physical activity can increase heart rate, walking, talking, etc.

Caffeine will increase HR too
