actually in my sports nutrition class, we were jst taught that for a strength athlete the needed protein requirments are 1.4-1.8g/per KG

Thats only 155g protein for me being 190lbs/86.3kg :o

I do think protein is more important when on a deficit, only because the chance of your body using its aminos for energy, you dont want it to take it from own lean tissue.

But I really do think protein is overly exaggerated on avg when in a surplus.

protein doesn't have less tendency to be stored as fats than carbs, it has more TEF than carbs.

TEF? Excuse my, english isn't my native language.

By that I mean proteins get used as building blocks (50% of the tissue leaving water aside, 80% of the muscle), working as enzymes, metabolism regulators such as hormones, insulin being one, and protective - such as IgA (immunoglobulin).
Lastly energetic properties. Now when something is used for training induced microtraumas and beforementioned ways then they have a lesser tendency counting all processes are affected by many others.

Still excess = fat after the body's natural stored 70-80g of glycogen in liver and 300-400g in muscle tissue.

Also we can venture down to molecular level lipogenetic processes.
While I had my sportsbiochemistry a few years back I don't remeber it all nor can I translate the words due to the language barrier.
Still I found a seemingly rather well written text regarding that on the very influenced grounds of bb.com (which mostly makes me rather sceptical).

TEF = thermogenic effect of food

meaning that even though 1g of protein is 4cals, it actually yeilds to ~3.3cals after digestion iirc

I do believe your right, although protein can and will be converted into adipose tissue, it is less likely than carbs/fats

guinea pigs of fitness? in some senses some of the older bodybuilders were, but in all honesty everyone is different. not every single person will respond to the same stimulation.

that's why one would experiment to see what works for HIM/HER. not necessarily as some lab rat science experiment that's going to apply to everybody.

This...

I was going to reply but didn't have time.

Each and every person who cares enough about themselves is going to "experiment" with themselves.

ok i understand that people can respond different to different things..but you're acting like we're not part of the same species...

We don't like to do this we do it because we need to and is biggest part of our training is a correct diet and why we aren't scrawns, If I could I would eat carbs all day if I didn't get fat.

a correct diet is subjective i guess..however, ever since i lowered my protein and ate higher carbs..ive seen better gains..if we want to get all anecdotal in here

Scooby knows his stuff about 75% of the time.

He also has the eyes of satan, black and soulless.
