Your friend sounds like a genetic outlier. Size doesn't guarantee strength and vice versa, but the bigger guys are usually the stronger guys the vast majority of the time.

Size one hundred percent guarantees strength. Muscles don't just get big for no reason, they develop size because they need to adapt to high loads. There is no real way to increase a muscles capacity for tension without increasing its csa

No, you say size doesn't guarantee strength, I say it does. It's quite simple, each molecular crossbridge generates a specific amount of tension. The more crossbridge proteins you maintain, the more tension you can generate. Differences in voluntary activation between individuals account for maybe 2 to 5 percent of total MVC so we are talking maybe 10 nm depending on the muscle. Yes you can change intracellular volumes a little with certain compounds and water/ion fluctuation but the fact remains that you can't generate muscle tension from nothing. Everybody needs the same number of actomyosin complexes to do the same task. Size literally dictates strength on a fundamental level

Then why did you reply to my post which said size vastly correlates with strength but not to the user I was quoting who said size has nothing to do with strength?

so the week before the meet you want to go really heavy? like rpe 9 or 9.5? I always thought you'd want to deload, or that might mess with you having an entire weak of sub maximal training

I have so much momentum since June being 9/9 for the past 2 meets and since the last one I've had 3 crazy volume bloc (15 week +). Opening with a meet total PR hoping to get drug tested soon. :)

I love/hate the fact that you are one of the few people that I can not see any thing that needs work. All your lifts are basically identical from 50% up to ''1RM''. Looks like you are good for 240/155/275. LMK if you need some help with mental approach (which seems to be the only thing I can actually help you with).

~1 week before contest you typically want to do either lifts similar to planned first or second attempt. If you've had a long prep-phase you will probably want to do around second'ish attempt.
If you do classic lifting (belt and sleeves) you should do last heavy workout 1 week out, and then do like 2 real light sessions during the week of competition.

Lol thanks for the kind words! I guess I could use some help for the next events :)

i hit 365x2, video cut out so I tried for another double with 375, need to keep my elbows under the bar because the popped up and i lost tension which made me miss, dont think it was so much strength failing as my form going bad... also feel like my stance might have been slightly wider than I am used to

also, sorry for always recording upright, i never remember to flip it
