not a personal attack man. You just don't have any actual experience with heavier weight. I would prefer to trim my callous instead of having a gaping hole in my hand after every deadlift session. If i dont trim them along with many other lifters it rips every time.

lol... i lift heavy at least it is heavy for me, "heavy weight" is a relative term that depends on ones unique level of strength so what is heavy for you might be light for another or vice versa. now this is just me speculating but have you ever thought maybe since you have always trimmed them this is why they always get ripped apart if you don't? like i said your body creates callus for a reason because you are picking up heavy weights and that can be rough on the hands. i've gotten my callus ripped up from dead lifting they just grow back a little bit thicker because maybe they were not thick enough the first time to protect your hand. you can have your opinion and i can have mine. i'm sure we can both agree he should not be wearing gloves period.

i never trimmed my callouses once and when i got over 405 for reps they would tear every workout or be on the verge of tearing and completely ruin the rest of my workout. Some people try and use a different hand placement, but it didnt make a difference, my workouts are always heavy.

i started trimming them and bam solution fixed. Just trying to say unless you experience something first hand just because you read it somewhere doesnt necessarily mean its always right.

you are 100% right about the bolded dude. i just wanted to know why exactly you suggested to trim them all the time. never really made sense to me but what you are saying makes a little more sense as i think about it. i still think if you don't need to trim them leave them be, but if a situation develops like your own when it may become essential to trim them down then so be it it makes sense.

i just trim them the day after a deadlift session. they build up way too much and if i leave them, the next week i go to dl it will tear off and it just leaves a gaping hole.

nice lifts dom, you had more gas in the tank with 315 :P
as far as callouses are concerned, i've noticed chalk helps (me atleast) greatly. also, place the bar on a horizontal plane OVER your callouses so that the heavy weight will not be forced down your hand (thus creating callouses/ripping) due to gravity. this has really helped me with my latest heaviest pull where i didn't exacerbate my callouses lol. just my 2 cents

ya i think i did too, but got that first one and just walked to the camera. next time ill just go till failure or 5x reps whichever comes first. and not bad advice about the callouses, i decided to do my supinated grip with the hand that was the worst as i figured if the bar slipped it would roll towards the fingers and not rip down on the callous. (probably more brothinking on it than anything else, but it worked). by next week it should be healed and ill just do alt grip w/o gloves again and see whats up.

my gym unfortunately doesnt allow chalk and kick people out for it.... a buddy of mine got kicked out from it and got into an argument with the guys about it after. needless to say i dont feel like finding a new gym right now, even though it wouldnt be too hard

And we all know how long re-centering chi takes.
