Be smart about it. Bring a dry towel for your hands only, rub the bar, rub your hands, chalk the bar, chalk your hands. Don't be afraid to use an actualy PEICE of chalk rather than powder, get a good layer on your hands.
Straps on olympic lifts is like...wtf
i do all of that aside from chalking the bar, so i'll have to give that a try next week...they aren't actual straps you wrap around the bar a few times either (http://store.versagripps.com/cart/product/8195/Versa_Gripps_Classic/)..my coach gave them to me for the olympic lifts haha...(btw, i do get a decent amount of grip work from hammer throwing on a daily basis too)
