They are real good to help with positioning, corestrenght and ability to get out of the hole.
I used to do lots and lots of paused squats last year, 120kg/265lbs for 1min was the best I did.
Weightlifting benefits more from ''longer'' pauses.
The 1min thingy I did was just a competition with a friend, no real point.

I did 365 for 10 seconds today. I feel confident I could do 405 for 10 too.

I might try this today ^^ never paused anything heavier than 3 playe and never longer than like 3 seconds

Deadlift test day. Didnt get the lock out but feel the strength is there

No quite ready but I have not handled more than 365 on squat/235 on bench/440 on deadlift prior to this. I'm starting the intensity bloc 5 weeks out from provincials.
