That's usually the case at hospitals since every one wants to be a MAGNET hospital.. they're requiring a BSN now or proof that you are enrolled in a credited BSN course

I might suggest an alternative if you're looking for a new career path: becoming a functional medicine practitioner. You may need additional qualifications, but it is worth checking out because it is potentially a huge part of the future of medicine. For more information about it, including some hints about how to get around the retarded U.S. health insurance system, consider reading The Evolution Of Medicine by James Maskell. It is/was available as a free download @ Amazon. The pay can be really good, and studies on the effectiveness of the health solutions it provides are going to be publicly available soon--and they look very promising. A bunch of innovative physicians, chiropractors, nurses and pharmacists have already made the switch. I know a few functional medical practitioners and they are very passionate about it. One of them anchored 7 figures from his facebook campaign alone--with 90% patient satisfaction. Keep in mind that he is treating chronic disease cases.

literally just lost respect for you regarding this post, sorry. this sounds almost as bad as naturopathic medicine, just a huge marketing scam. MD's do address the origin of disease, in almost every day life. the problem is that people who seek medical care dont want to prevent their disease they just want the drug that will fix them (when the underlying cause is related to lifestyle choice). they ignore advice to exercise more, eat better and treat themselves generally well and just want some sort of cure for their problem. at best, these functional practitioners are just normal MD's who dress up regular health care to charge more for it to people who know no better

So I'm shadowing one of the PTAs at my hospital on Monday.. Than going to shadow one of the rad techs in the ED afterwards.. No reason to shadow nurses since I work with them all day..

I have a semester to decide what i'm doing.. glhf

I wish haha. I'm in the middle of an application cycle right now, which is easily the most stressful thing I've ever done. Also in the middle of a gap year doing research in plastic/reconstructive surgery.
