I have wondered the same things. I know someone that went to the same school I did for Exercise Physiology, but she knows like nothing about exercise methods, programming, or what seems to be common sense. The last time I talked to her, she tried to tell me that the reason people are fat is because they eat after 7PM, and if I want to lose weight, I need to stop eating later than that. I, I just don't understand. We got what I thought was a similar education, but apparently not.

Reminded me of an old joke that applies to this thread. What do you call the doctor who graduates at the bottom of their class? Doctor.

Probably because doctors are human and prone to certain biases and vulnerabilities to misinformation.
He also probably doesn't specifically deal with these sorts of questions and issues regularly and the information, while useless, won't really kill anybody so it won't be corrected.

tbh he mightve just misspoken, im sure his knowledge of the digestive system and metabolism in general should be accurate, doctors have continued formation pretty much everywhere now
