Lotta people (girls and dudes alike) are still trying to figure out who the f?!k they are and what they're about, if they're younger than 20 or so.

Hell, a lot of people in their early 20's are *still* trying to figure out what the f?!k they're about.

When I was in my mid-20s, the relevant questions were:

- Have they held a job / do they understand the value of work?

- Do they live on their own / do they understand what it takes to be independent?

- What kind of relationship do they have with their family?


That last one, in particular: if they had a weird co-dependent dynamic with their family, that was a red flag. However, if they have some kind of SEETHING animosity / anger with their family, that's a red flag, too.

We all have a different baseline for "normal" in relation to family dynamics, but most of us are pretty close to a center median. You (the general "you", reading this) should have a pretty good idea if a chickie has some weird crazy-pants dynamic with their family.

How I see it, it really depends on the person. The lower the age the higher the difference might be, like a rule of thumb. Personally I'm in the exact situation myself but I feel like I've wasted last few years chasing one peer of mine, just because I thought we had something in common. Took me 2 years to realise she doesn't even know what she's up to in life.
