Yeah apparently it's insanely stiff, they're actually noticeably harder to break the floor with than commercial gym whippy bars



I haven't met him yet, I'd assume so, one of the owners of this gym is Steve Cappicoli or something he's got a squat world record for 144lb weight class raw at worlds everybody there is fking crazy strong

A guy who was friends with my coach kept three of his Elieko bars at our weight room. He is an older guy that still olympic lifts and is a VP for a branch of Honeywell, so pocket change for him (a beast in his day, and still was stronger than I was in my prime even though he was in his 50s). He was part of the training group that was with Kevin Nee when they came in. Anyway, they were kept in a locked back room, but we had access to them for training. As far as I know, at least one of them is still there, but I haven't been in since the spring.

And why the fuck do Eleiko bars cost less in the US than they do in Sweden where we fucking make them.

Oh nvm our club don't pay for them anyway.

we only used bumper plates on the platforms, and the racks all had rubber padding anyway..at each station there was always a bar in place on one end for the bench, a bar in place in the middle for squats, and then the platform was open so you would grab a bar from a vertical rack (it was fairly common to have one person benching, one person squatting, and one person using the platform at a station all at the same time)
