Hyperkalemia = increased aldosterone secretion, resulting in metabolic alkalosis, increased nerve excitability resulting in cardiac arrythmias, among other things, and impaired insulin secretion resulting in hyperglycemia

I read and hear mixed things about the sugar and carbs in fruit being either good or bad for weight loss.
I eat 10 bananas a day. I love them. They give me the fructose my brain craves and fill me up. They also keep me from eating candy and other garbage..

Any tips would be appreciated.

I'm just curious, If you're eating 1,000 calories a day in bananas alone. How many total calories are you eating..?

he likely has healthy kidneys which are willing to secrete large amounts of potassium even if just to spare a small amount of sodium lol

the daily requirement for potassium is like 3.5-4g anyway... so it is quite high.

the only issue is if he supplements or takes a lot at once causing his blood levels to rise faster than the kidneys can compensate.... or if he takes a drug like a potassium sparing diuretic or ACEi which alter the kidney's ability to excrete potassium

i was thinking along the lines of natural physiological compensation: aldosterone being the main regulator of K+ levels would become increasingly activated at increased plasma K+ levels, thus excreting more K+, which kind of explains the mechanism behind your statement of kidneys compensating/willing to secrete large amounts of K+

but from what I know, everything you said is 100% correct (which I'm sure you know bc that's why you said it) as well in regards to drugs potentially interfering with the natural renal regulation process
