I'm well aware of the statistics. It's not actually that dangerous of a job, by comparison to how dangerous it is perceived.

How so? Maybe it's different where you are but a lot of places up here in Canada have 4 on/4 off shift work. 10 hour days and 14 hr nights.
That's not that bad... Literally off half the year not including vacation time. Take one block off and you instantly have 12 days off. Pretty sick if ya ask me...

Yeah, they do it differently down there lol I wouldn't like that much. Some places do 2 24 hr shifts a week, which would also be sick
what do they do, 1 on 2 off? or 2 on/4off?
