Pretty much, I typically throw on band shirts, jeans, skater shoes and I'm out the door. I dress better for work, though I'm a self employed accountant and can wear pretty much anything I want since I don't represent the companies I work for, lol.
To OP, some people can't pull off some of the clothes you suggested and end up looking ridiculous. It's much more based on the individual's bodytype/personality etc. I dress nowhere near this and have had no problem socializing, or getting with my soon to be one year girlfriend. What you think looks good and what other people (including the opposite sex) doesn't always match up.
Thanks for posting anyway, I'm sure it'll be of use to some of us ofc
That's the thing. You may think you can't pull it off. But you can. Nothing against skater style, that was me for a long time. It's not bad, but for a lot of people it can get better.
Good fashion is by no means required to be successful in socializing, getting a GF, etc. It's just a factor. If you are good looking, funny, good social skills, etc, you can dress pretty bad and still be ok. But you can always improve yourself.
To you (and all other peoiple) saying fashion is not universal. Of course different stuff looks good on different people. It's a guide, you have to start somewhere. This type of clothes is safe and looks good on almost anyone. If you put in the work you can find more personalized things that look good on you. But a lot of people don't think it's worth putting the time or just don't know enough to do it themselves. So refer to the guide.
I personally strive to be my best self, and I'm helping others in achieving that goal for themselves.
Cheers.
