America, the only place on earth where you need a cert to train people but you can be a teacher without having gone to the university.

A healthy combination of both self-education and schooling is best!

Schooling builds such a great base and provides such wonderful sources to work from. After that, if you feel the need to expand your knowledge on select topics, there are soooo many resources available (many of the BEST ones can be provided by the school itself.)

Inb4 - government runs schools and schools are biased and give information brainwashing us to eat more GMO.

Ethan was working as a high school teacher not long ago iirc...

But that's not the problem at hand. What really bugs me is that government runs schools and schools are biased and give information brainwashing us to eat more GMO.

Little difference do I see between the both. St the end, substitute or not, you're being taught for somebody with the same level of studies you do have.

That's not the best method IMO.

Imagine being taught by Josiah.

it's the responsibility of the teacher to pick up a proper substitute. There are plenty of incompetent teachers and lazy teacher students.

it's not just america that employs uncertified people as substitutes, it happens even in the developed countries of europe.

Never heard of such practices in the ole continent.

However even if they did it here it wouldn't make it right.

Imagine being taught by a British Josiah.

I mean, HOLY FUVK

if you have studied the subject in high school, i don't see a problem in working as a substitute for short periods of time. I agree with you when it comes to maternal leaves, long-term illnesses or other things of the sort, though.

it was mostly babysitting, when there is a substitute, rarely is teaching done.
