i was thinking and if my 1rm is 275lb on bench

i would perform the eccentric contraction 130% wld put me at like 357.xlbs  rounded down to 355lbs.  Now in my understanding this would only be if i was performing a 1 rep eccentric contraction...

if i wanted to do a set of eccentric contractions then i would simply increase my 5rep max by 130% to do 5 reps of eccentric contractions

amiright?

Good luck doing 5 reps of max effort eccentric.

If it's strictly an eccentric exercise, he can do it. 130% RM1 regards the RM1 of an individual's Concentric+Eccentric repetition.
Of course, you would need a partner or partners performing the concentric part for you, oak.

Depends on the speed of the eccentric.

You can't really do more than 2 or 3 reps if your eccentric phase lasts 8-10 seconds

It will not last that long.
Eccentric contractions should last 4 seconds at an average. This being an eccentric workout, he needs only to deal with eccentric timing.
He would then have his partners lift the weight back up within another 1-2 seconds, without his involvement.

Yes I know about eccentric workouts, I do them to make it easy for me on the eccentric phase during 1RMs.

I make mine last 8-10 seconds because I found it was much much much (x10) more beneficial.

Also, for your general curiosity:

Watch how he deadlifts when he's not working with 1RM. Fast up, controlled down. The fast up is very important.

thats the way to train

alright so i put it to the test...

my 1rm BP max is 275lbs

130% puts me at 357lbs

Which is jst outrageous...

i decided to try it with 315lbs ... thus only being 40lbs more than my 1rm

i could perform 3 eccentric reps at which which would take 3 seconds for the majority of the negaive but once my elbows broke 90 the weight wld fall rather rapidly and only take up the last second to = 4 seconds

i wasnt too happy with how this felt and didnt think it did much but my chest was the most sore its ever been.

i am glad i listened to my gut and only put on 315lbs b/c i think if i would of loaded it 130% i could of gotten hurt.

Have you used 2 spotters? Or 1 spotter who could concentrically lift the weight back?
