sorry but the convo currently going on IS FUCKING STUPID

u shud not be required to be on gear to be a professional athlete, that is retarded and wud ruin sports straight up. If ur allowed to do it, every1 does it so that they can stay in the game nd not fall behind. That wud a ctually promote the abuse of steroids

i suppose i can understand using roids if uve reached ur genetic potential and ur trying to be a body builder but otherwise, its fucking stupid and i cant believe ur begining to advocate steroids for use in competetive sports, thats just absurd and wud tear apart the world of sports easily and quickly

edit: and who the fuck cares about throwing a disc, were arent in anceint greece sorry bruh, u can use it as a metaphor for REAL sports

What is a REAL sport for you?

tough to define, but it has to be more complex then throwing a disc.. track and feild isnt a sport IMO it more just a series of physical tests

but thats off topic

steroids simply cannot be allowed in sports, its just true

Actually throwing discs and spears is about as close to a sport as you can get. There are no additional attributes that help you, and you need great strength, speed and flexibility for it.

I really can't believe you guys think unlimited use of steroids and artificial ways to gain strength or speed would be a positive addition to sports. Stuff like fake wrestling obviously isn't a real sport, so it shouldn't have the same rules. I really don't mind for steroids in crappy show stuff like that. But once steroids and other things would be allowed, athletes would not so much anymore rely on training or talent but more on who has the best pills and injections. Sports are about physical activity, in other words, finding the limits of what the human body is able to do in a certain activity; not what labratories can think of in terms of drugs and steroids.

But you're talking like those pills and injections do all the job. The athletes on gear train harder than the athletes who are not. That "edge" is simply the ability to train more and recover faster. It's not magical.

That's of course not what i ment. It would mean sports are no longer just about what your body is able to do, which would take away the point of sports in the first place to me. Sports are not just for entertainment for me.

i'm getting sick of hearing this. sure they are working hard but i work as hard as my body allows me, saying they work harder relative to what their body allows is incorrect

You can only work so hard and much until you hit begin to overtrain.
Using gear puts your limits much higher before you can overtrain.

Willing to bet you (or anyone here) could use any amount of steroids you want and not make it in the nba/nfl etc.

If everyone is using steroids, then everything in that respect is equal, and the difference comes from genetics/talent/skill etc.

i'm not suggesting steroids would be a good thing in professional sports (idk/c), but your argument is pretty invalid imo.
