BUILD THEM OTHER MUSCLES BRAH.

Right, that said it makes sense to isolate whatever isn't getting worked enough in compounds, whether it be arms, abs, etc.

My core isn't the limiting factor for my compounds.

there is legitimacy in this statement yo

not every1 is built huge like u burns, skinny kids have stronger abs to other muscle ratios generally so its not like they can load the shit out of squats so they can work their abs. ur quads/glutes/etc r going to grow much faster the more u lift than ur abs, so the bigger ur get, the larger this strength discrepency comes into play

when ur smaller, u get a lot less ab work from those huge compunds then u do when ur huge and can load alot more weight on them, so when ur not a giant powerlifter, u NEED those ab specific exercises

You mean when you don't put up big numbers? I was small once, and I know what you mean by your statement. And I did ab exercises back then. But adding plates to my barbell, I realized it wasnt needed anymore.

Better?

Or just ample for somebody not worried about ab definition too much?

I think weighted ab exercises> squats & deadlifts for ab definition personally.

Dear god.

Alright, let me rephrase. Direct heavy ab work + low body fat is better for ab definition than compound lifts + low body fat imo.

The abs are a muscle too, makes no sense to me why direct work to them wouldn't be more beneficial than compound lifts.

Just like ant gave into the "no direct arm work required" and he's regretting it now because it is required for better results.
