Thanks to Zach, Steven and others who helped me learn low bar squatting about 3 weeks ago now. Felt so uncomfortable and annoying to learn but getting the hang of it

dont look up when you drop into the squat, the cervical hyperextension will throw off other lumbar curves and ultimately bleed torque out of your glutes. keep your head looking a few feet in front of you, your head position relative to your spine should not change throughout the movement

also fix those damn awkward feet

this applies to rugby too, but any time your toes are angled out you are more prone to a collapsed ankle, where the arch in your foot flattens out. this by itself isnt a problem while you're just standing there but as soon as you start involving loads like a barbell or a ruck, you expose the knee of that leg with the collapsed arch to mcl/acl/meniscus stress. too much stress or repeated stress can easily lead to a tear in one or all of those ligaments (theyre connected to some degree by the joint capsule)

Would not low bar squat, even though you might be able to get some more weight.

High bar squat all the way, helps with form for other olympic style lifts as well.

So feet should be straight ahead? Or just less angled
