I bet it has more to do with flexibility than the fact that he purposely starts there. I can't get a bar to my chest without some weight on it while doing an OHP. Dat terrible flexibility mayne. :(

Anyway he isn't precisely handling a bar without weight :P

I know he starts there, I'm just saying that to me doing OHP that way is like doing half squats. Which doesn't take from the fact that a 500lb half squat is impressive as shit to me.

Guess I simply wanted to say it because full RoM is zealously preached Gor some exercises and looked past in some others. Dat derrrr

Well, personally, I always found the drive out of the hole on OHP to be the easiest part of the lift, so I don't really see how cutting that short would affect too much.

Then again, this was when I had Alpha strength triceps and only benched close grip lololol
