I was pretty tight on time between this meet and my last, I only had 6 weeks.

Even so, I don't think I'd want to waste training days doing singles. As Aube said, the only ones that matter are in the meet.

Also, I stuck to the program I was on (Candito)

I meant its just typical for someone to work up to a single or double at roughly 90% 7-10 days before the meet as means to peak. But nothings written in stone.

Good luck and post the results!

Hey m8 you forgot to ask me the modification for the openers the week before the meet as HyphyIll said :P

You're new to this sport so it wont really matter but next time don't forget. Candito himself told me how to modify it for a meet.

Thanks! I'll likely have someone with me this time so I can post vids with results.

Side node, my estimated 1RM is 283.4 for squat, so I did 4 reps at over 90% 1RM.
Similar for the other 2.

Ah crap. I misunderstood what you said before.

How would you of modified week 5, so I know for next time?

Also, since my meet is Saturday, do you recommend I deload next week Monday Tuesday but take the rest of the week off?

Just to throw in my personal experience, I hate doing "nothing" the week of the meet like most people will tell you to do. My first two meets I felt like shit and was gassed by the deadlifts because I had very little exercise going into it.

The past ones I did, every day on meet week (except the last two days prior to meet) I did light to moderate cardio and did 2-3 sets of ~5 reps with 20-30% for all squat bench and dead. On meet day I felt great.

Just my personal preference.

The meet programs I've done or designed has most likely had a opener around 1 week before comp and then around 15-20 reps @ 30-50% for each exercise (squat/bench/dl) 1-2days before.
For OL, openers is 1week before, 70-80% work 5 & 4 days out combined with lighter squats/pulls and around 40-50% work the day before.

This has worked well for me atleast.

Hadn't barbell benched since last july-august. Just been doing db bench + time off
Anyway, yesterday I wanted to play around and see what I could get
Hit 315x1, 335x1, then got 365 up about 3-4". Felt pretty good, so I might start bb benching a bit again
