kind of hard to eat when you don't know anything about nutrition and have no drive to fix your life to be able eat 6 meals a day

btw in your position you shouldn't worry about 6 meals a day and focus on just getting in a good, sufficient amount of calories

whether that be 3 meals per day or 4, its better eating this way and getting your calories and nutrients instead of being nutritionally deficient and feeling like shit

its your life, manage it poorly and you will suffer the consequences. manage it efficiently and you will live happier and fuller.

again getting good, quality food in, in my opinion, is key for results and vitality. living off protein shakes and synthetic vitamins is no way to live at all imo.

always strive to change your life for the better little steps at a time, and at the end of the day knowing you've tried your best, you'll feel damn good about it.

thats my opinion man

hey there - I really appreciate you trying to help out on the thread...but PLEASE do not HIJACK this thread.

This thread is for advice asked to me and answered by me. I appreciate the enthuiasm, but for your own opinions, please stick to other threads and avoid this sticky.

I will be glad to answer any and all of your questions though - please do not take offense. =)

hey there - I just replied to your post...but I want to address this issue...

there are a lot of ways to get 3 meals and 3 snacks a day....the 3 meals you're covered...but the snacks...here are some really easy and portable ideas::

Protein bars, hard boiled eggs, peanutbutter crackers/sandwich, celery and peanut butter, beef jerky (low sodium), cheese sticks, lunchmeat slices, cottage cheese cups, mixed nuts.

Alright that should help alot. I've been watching the 12 week body building videos on bodybuilding.com and it helps alot even though I have to follow my weight lifting coach's routine.

Thanks alot.

Hey,
Trying to cut down for a vacation, currently 5'8 170 pounds, i'm fairly slim as it is, getting some abs showing through etc, just want it a little better. There's probably like 4 cutting diets in here already, but could you post one up.

theres many more than 4...and there was one just posted a few pages ago. You should really READ the last 10 pages of the thread before posting.

ok here's a good idea.

for pure maintenance, your body requires approximately 1,800 calories (not counting activity). Add in the activity...and you are looking at approx 2,300-2,500 calories a day for a lean bulk @ your height/weight/activity level.

try this on for size:

meal 1 - 3 whole eggs + 3 egg whites + 1 cup oatmeal + 1 banana + 1 cup milk

meal 2 - 1 can tuna + 2 slices whole grain bread + 1 cheese stick + small salad + 1 apple

meal 3 - protein shake + 1 banana + handful mixed nuts

meal 4 - 8 oz chicken breast + 1 cup brown rice + broccoli + olive oil

meal 5 - 8 oz lean steak + whole grain pasta + grated cheese + green veggies

meal 6 - 1 cup cottage cheese + cinnamon + mixed nuts
