it could just be because your body isn't used to doing that? i wouldn't stop trying but maybe you need more water, carbs/electrolytes? i went 5 years without hitting a punching bag then one day decided to do a solid 15 minutes and i couldn't close my hand for about a week

aftwards i never had that problem again and now i sometimes hit the bag with no wraps, no gloves or anything and experience zero pain or discomfort. i'd say tough it out and only worry about it if it keeps happening.
