The truth is that people like "Boogie" are simply too lazy and lack discipline - and therefore will never lose weight because of it.
Lots of people who are in great shape were also mentally and physically abused as children by their parents, or other people. That is no excuse for being fat, at all, not even close.

The real problem is that we are forced to passively enable his self abuse, because there's always this awkward shield he's hiding behind when he brings up the issue. People like him always do it in a way that makes you pity them and not want to call them out for being the weak, insecure pussies that they really are. Whenever weight is brought up by a fat person, it immediately becomes clear that they aren't actually serious about losing it, but instead just want you to partake in some bull shit exercise of giving them a pity party.

The other unfortunate fact about Boogie is that he's simply too old to be helped - its too late. Nobody is willing to sort through the probably thousands of layers of delusion he's hiding behind just to help an old man lose weight and live a better life, it would simply be a waste of time.

You can't deal with fat loss and emotional damage at the same time. They are two completely separate issues with completely separate solutions.
