ya'll not letting me off easy so fine
I recently started taking a medication that has a side effect of interacting with my urine and requires me to go light on sodium as I won't be cleansing it out at the normal rate. Even at my current pace of drinking 3 liters of water per day, I still have to watch it.
The 'not dirtying dishes' is all about avoiding roommate conflict. Paper/plastic utensils won't allow me to boil eggs, cook meat or open cantaloupes.
After another trip to the grocery store, I spent extra time looking and I was able to find some yogurt, pudding and canned fruit that all had very low sodium. I decided I am just going to go down to 500 calories per day so I can manage everything I want. If this doesn't work, I'm probably just going to give up trying to be healthy.
sweet things will usually be low in sodium yeah!
but man, your health isn't worth sacrificing for a seemingly petty problem like roommate differences. a poor diet will affect more aspects of your day-to-day life than roommate problems will.
i don't understand why using oven bags or doing meal prep once a week can't be something that's able to be compromised for. i thought these were pretty alright suggestions, put a smile on and go work it out with them! then you have a solution until you're able to get yourself in a more comfortable living situation.
