It's cause i'm not the one who's so eager to prove his intelligence on a web forum. I used to think not caring enough was an excuse to dodge, like you seem to do now, but it's really not. So come at my not-so-esoteric swag bro.
You're just letting your inner euphoric neckbeard when you seemingly masturbate to your enlightenment. No matter how good at chess you are, you're still just angry at the world (in this case, this subforum) for not recognizing your self-proclaimed intellect cause "lol people insult me for using big words" instead of "maybe i lack the skill of dumbing shit down". I've been there too in my earlier internet days, so trust me. Go on a date and use such language and maybe you'll understand. She'll certainly tell her friends how smart you are.
It actually takes intelligence to reformulate complex ideas to a more simple language or otherwise you'll be like any liberal arts students (or science student for that matter) who just learned new words and concepts and is shoving them in everyone's faces in a "did you know i'm vegan" fashion while blaming others for not following.
Now that i checked it, it seems esoteric means known by few or so, which overlaps with things that are alien, bizarre or uncommon. It happens when you're not a native speaker, though i still would've used it in the correct contexts cause the word is mostly used figuratively (something that you have a hard time understanding) so my point stands.
the shit you say is just absurd. I could literally refute every single thing you said but it would get me precisely nowhere in light of:
you admitting that you actually had to look up the definition of a word you've been arguing the definition of for four posts.Quote (Neptunus @ May 17 2016 02:38am)
esoteric is indeed mostly used when speaking of "otherworldly" things
.

how on earth is the use of the word 'esoteric' mostly figurative? seriously? If a word is esoteric, it is by definition
literally unknown,
or the word cannot be used. wtf are you even talking about? It's like you just learned English and you're asserting and trying to defend all these things without actually knowing what you're talking about. You now show that you don't know the meaning of figurative.
jesus Christ, done with this thread
