Now you're overdoing it, man, lol. Complicating your speech like that is really just an inconvenience. It's a lot more appropriate to say uncommon or exotic instead of esoteric, which is mostly reserved for prose, mysticism or fantasy.

Relax and take it easy. Do enough casual talk and it gets easier. A good speaker is attuned to his audience and isn't just shoving his shit in people's faces

Idealizing idiocy is bullshit, but there's nothing inherently better about (overly) sophisticated speech.

this is exactly my point. no word I used in that paragraph is anything an adult human being should be unfamiliar with. exotic absolutely does not mean the same thing as esoteric and, further, esoteric is absolutely not reserved for mysticism and fantasy. Prose is in fact the form of writing I used in the paragraph you refer to when you say my word choice was incorrect by virtue of a word being "reserved for prose."

please don't try to edify me if you're an idiot. esoteric reserved for fantasy.. lmao.

edit: trolling? hard to imagine someone actually being incorrect on every point they tried to make.

I speak with precision, using words that carry the exact meaning I intend them to. What's the point of trying to add flourish to your writing if the message you want to convey gets muddled by your "massive lexicon"

You show an autistic interest in details. Only nerds on the internet type like that in an attempt to prove something or compensate for their lack of eloquence.

Prose is a type of literature which your post isn't, and esoteric is indeed mostly used when speaking of "otherworldly" things, it has no place in normal speech unless you played too many fantasy video games or follow Deepak Chopra.

you're thinking of ethereal, not esoteric. that is just not what esoteric means. and prose is any writing with conventional grammatical structure, as opposed to poetry.

You've already conceded being incorrect on one of your points-- we'll get there.

I still got more swag bro. I rarely check out dictionaries for exact definitions and mostly learn on the go. I would still use the words in the correct contexts and that's all that matters. A health and fitness subforum is not such a context, though it seems too difficult for you to understand cause of your ivory tower illusion.

You clearly lack the grasp on connotations and context. Here you go full on autistic calling a jsp post prose while most of people reserve the word prose as a type of actual literature.

you would still use words in the correct context but somehow managed to misuse them here? it took me telling you that you misused a word multiple times before you recognized such. you clearly lack intelligence

most of the world does not consider prose a type of literature because that's not what it is. literature may be mostly prose, prose is not mostly literature.

2/3 now

lmk so I can go play chess

it's funny when people try to look intelligent and I call them out and their content deteriorates into shit like "i still got more swag." Lol.

esoteric = otherworldly lolol

It's cause i'm not the one who's so eager to prove his intelligence on a web forum. I used to think not caring enough was an excuse to dodge, like you seem to do now, but it's really not. So come at my not-so-esoteric swag bro.

You're just letting your inner euphoric neckbeard when you seemingly masturbate to your enlightenment. No matter how good at chess you are, you're still just angry at the world (in this case, this subforum) for not recognizing your self-proclaimed intellect cause "lol people insult me for using big words" instead of "maybe i lack the skill of dumbing shit down". I've been there too in my earlier internet days, so trust me. Go on a date and use such language and maybe you'll understand. She'll certainly tell her friends how smart you are.

It actually takes intelligence to reformulate complex ideas to a more simple language or otherwise you'll be like any liberal arts students (or science student for that matter) who just learned new words and concepts and is shoving them in everyone's faces in a "did you know i'm vegan" fashion while blaming others for not following.

Now that i checked it, it seems esoteric means known by few or so, which overlaps with things that are alien, bizarre or uncommon. It happens when you're not a native speaker, though i still would've used it in the correct contexts cause the word is mostly used figuratively (something that you have a hard time understanding) so my point stands.

the shit you say is just absurd. I could literally refute every single thing you said but it would get me precisely nowhere in light of:

you admitting that you actually had to look up the definition of a word you've been arguing the definition of for four posts.

how on earth is the use of the word 'esoteric' mostly figurative? seriously? If a word is esoteric, it is by definition literally unknown, or the word cannot be used. wtf are you even talking about? It's like you just learned English and you're asserting and trying to defend all these things without actually knowing what you're talking about. You now show that you don't know the meaning of figurative.

The original discussion was about overcomplicated language and you turned it into a nitpicking fest which you happened to win. It's like you would go on to say "the dead aren't pushing up daisies, they can't move derp!". When someone say's that a goal was sick, you go on to point out how a goal can't be sick because it by definition isn't an organism that can get a disease? In this case the definitions i had were even synonymous with the correct one and they would essentially convey the same message. Come on, man. Zooming in on a detail and missing the big picture. Great fucking job.

None of what you just said changes my original message. I've read a good deal of texts myself and am pretty confident to say what you or shaneisaballa write is terrible English. The only way you could write like this is really by looking up the words in a thesaurus.
