Yeah that's legit. Many studies citing those numbers. It's for maximal sarcoplasmic growth in top natural bodybuilders. So this is for bulking, honestly I'd suggest a little more when cutting (particularly at the end/depleted portion of cut)
Besides, excess proteins will be converted to glycogen anyways if needed.
But yeah 1.7-2g/kg bw is great.
