Yet i wouldnt recommend drinking alcohol to anyone serious about theirs physique.
The point is, if you are a beginner/intermediate in lifting, alcohol consumption (in this case i mean parties, going out and getting wasted) is in most cases connected with lack of sleep, dehydration and often opportunities of eating junk food and over/underdoing your caloric/macro goal.
This leads to missing anabolic periods and damaged recovery, so from this point of view consuming alcoholic baverages on weekends is pointless.

You make it sound like you can't have an awesome life with alcohol. It's nice to indulge occasionally and even get drunk every now and then. It's quite fun with the right people and that relaxing effect is pretty nice. The hangovers suck royally, though. Drinking for the sake of drinking or to make life bearable, now that's where one might want to reconsider his habits. Some alcoholic drinks also taste pretty good. Idk if it's the acquired taste + association, but it doesn't matter.

You probably can but let's break down pros and cons here. You're taking higher disease risk in exchange for sometimes, but not usually, nice tasting beverages (that dehydrate you, reduce motor control and cognitive skills and impulse inhibition) which allow you to relax in social settings and have more fun? Why not just relax and have fun without wasting your time and money on drinking?

You are correct on every point. I was more or less referring to a night where you aren't training the next day, keep calories low so you don't go over maintainence (assuming cutting). I just wasn't clear enough. I'd never recommend getting drunk before lifting.

Not gonna lie . I was anti social as fuck in highschool. Drank a bit and it helped, by getting a little buzz I learned to take bigger risks that I do sober now. It's weird but alcohol helped me grow. I actually enjoy drinking but I've cut down a lot. I'm still in college so it's not something I'd give up yet but I'm going out less and less and drinking less when I do go out.

I don't care if other people drink. I always dd for my buddies and go to the bar with them, I'm more introverted as a person so even when I did drink I didn't blatantly hit on girls but I still have a good time when I go out and meet people. I don't push my view of alcohol on people but if you ask why I don't drink I will explain myself

its just unusual because a lot of more introverted people I know like to drink because the inebriation makes them more relaxed in a social setting, whereas there is more anxiety sober.

also its college so most people drink atm :P

done this 4 times in the last month. Once I even drank goon mixed with preworkout in my shaker cup at the gym cuz I was late for predrinks, but still wanted to get my squats, and squat accessories done. Literally a bottle of wine straight to my face in the gym. Then I mixed a bit with protein powder, that turned out a lot worse than you'd imagine...
