theres absolutely nothing wrong with that movement, except for maybe some over internal rotation. youre taking a simple, discrete movement like the cable row and altering it slightly/reducing the resistance to make it cyclical and change the goal of the activity from a muscular strength focus to an endurance focus such as in rowing (in a boat). kip ups are the endurance version of a pull up. the goal of the movement is not to see how much weight you can move once, its to see how many times you can move the same amount of weight
u can kip to get better at doing kip ups
theres nothing optimal about that movement, the range of motion is shit, using momentum to move the body up puts more stress on the joints and you look like a fish out of water, wobbling around like that o.o
