Well you said vegetarian and considering fish is a large part of many people's diets I think it is an important distinction to be made.

I would argue that it is more immature and unenlightened of you to not post evidence of what you claim to be true, on the mere assumption that we would disregard it. That is very condescending hence the hostility towards you

true, but when i say "pescatarian" i mostly just feel pretentious and most people don't know what that means anyway.

"vegetarian but eat fish" is more comprehensible.

especially when it comes to a group of people who will, after posting the word "pescatarian" ramble on and on about how i'm an idiot for thinking presbyterian is a type of diet. you know goddamn well it's true.

and once again, directly referential to OP's posts.

i lack the empathy to communicate with such truly, truly stupid people. sorry for blowing your hair back, hnf, you buncha windowlickers.

it was both directed at, and referential to OP's posts. for, HE was the one trying to sway ignorant minds with hard facts. this is the part you are terribly confused about.

you sir are very confused, and have got an idea in your head that i've never projected from my post.

that's your problem and yours alone. i'm actually sad i have to spell this out for you.

this is what wretch always does

very predictable response format from him

in this he says:
he was not talking to the people who are responding to him
he said u r confused twice, only a few words apart
he mentions how u have some problem
and he is sad because you are confused and have a problem

......
wretch seems to love telling others about themselves.
he should be a therapist
well, no, he shouldnt, but u see what i mean

I need meats.

I usually don't consider something a meal without meat.

OP, 100% agreeing with you. there are zero cons to switching to a plant-based diet, and too many pros to list. the only thing is you'd better know how to cook.

many people though just lack the information, self-esteem, and/or compassion to even see where all of this is coming from. eating animal products is too engrained into them for them to consider a better/more responsible way of living. kind of like the grandparents who still watch VHS and don't understand the internet. it's beyond them, they're stuck. same type of mindset.

no amount of hard facts can influence indoctrinated ignorance. waste of effort man.

but a LOT of vegan/vegetarian products are fortified with b12, like soy milk. zero worries there.

i'm not a vegan, just vegetarian, still eat fish. there's one thing i do not understand about the vegan thing. do you know how much of the house/apartment you're living in and the building materials used contain animal products? how many everyday household items you buy at the store contain animal products? i understand the ethos, i do, it's just impossible to live a lifestyle completely free of all animal products. it extends much farther beyond food and i never see this mentioned. what do you think about this?

nothing is impossible and i make as many positive choices as i can on a daily basis and increasingly more every day. anyone can change and make better choices. many people are working on innovations to help improve the world. many of the products i use are not animal tested or home made with my own sourced ingredients. remember anything is possible, lead by example and your actions.

0 cons

i stopped reading when i read that....

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3466124/
"Conclusions
On the whole, our results strongly corroborate the past findings in smaller samples of adolescents and young adults, which have demonstrated that in contrast to physical health, a vegetarian diet is not associated with better mental health. Whether compared with a control group of non-vegetarians matched for important socio-demographic characteristics, or with non-vegetarians in general, vegetarians show elevated prevalence rates of diverse mental disorders. Importantly, we found no evidence for a causal role of vegetarian diet in the etiology of mental disorders. Rather, our results are more consistent with the view that the experience of a mental disorder increases the probability of choosing a vegetarian diet, or that psychological factors influence both the probability of choosing a vegetarian diet and the probability of developing a mental disorder."

also from another source

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19279075

"However, eliminating all animal products from the diet increases the risk of certain nutritional deficiencies. Micronutrients of special concern for the vegan include vitamins B-12 and D, calcium, and long-chain n-3 (omega-3) fatty acids. Unless vegans regularly consume foods that are fortified with these nutrients, appropriate supplements should be consumed. In some cases, iron and zinc status of vegans may also be of concern because of the limited bioavailability of these minerals."

meat eaters are just as deficient as vegans in all of those things. i eat alot and i feel like i'm getting more of a variety of colorful vibrant foods than i ever had in my whole life. calcium (almond milk, leafy greens) omega 3s (hemp, walnuts, chia)

funny that people always wanna say that people who don't wanna eat meat are crazy LOL

This type of diet requires a lot of time and effort, which compared to the actual benefits (a lot of which is based on shaky evidence) make it completely unnecessary to adopt for any other reason than a perceived interest in the wellbeing of animals.

Also you're not a vegetarian if you eat fish.

its pretty cheap and easy, rice cooker, baking, and a blending don't take much time.

cutting into a piece of fruit is pretty simple if you as me. you can pop into almost any restaurant and ask for steamed veggies and rice, use any sauces you want.
