facts. you ever hear the expression as cool as cucumber?
traditional chinese medicine can give us tremendous amount of insight into learning what foods we should be eating to optimize our health. some people are hot and some people cold. ying and yang.
people who have cold hands cold feet need to keep circulation going. so we must consume foods and liquids that help improve that circulation (yams like sweet potato, mustard greens, ginger, peppers, cabbage, papaya, kale, parsley, etc.
people who get hot all the time and stay warm easily can get away with eating citrus fruits and or other cooling foods in the cold climates. if i eat or drink something cold during the winter i will be cold instantly. but if i have ginger tea and baked sweet potato or hot oatmeal for breakfast i'll stay much warmer through the day.
drinking cold water is also a bad idea. your organs have to work harder thus putting stress on the body. in TCM they believe the organs have a life span and if you make your organs work harder than they need to, you'll shorten your life span. everything should run efficiently and smoothly. water should be room temperature or warm. i started experimenting last year by drinking hot or warm water instead of cold water and it works, it really does.
i'm still learning so i don't know everything about this stuff but this is just what i know. maybe this post will inspire you guys into furthering your interests in optimal health, fitness, and performance. you have trillions of cells in your body. consuming the right things will improve the function of those cells thus improving all aspects of your life.
yeah try to get organic just to be sure.
hehe check above about TCM
