People have different reaches, slight differences in muscle/ligament shapes, flexibility etc, so nothing applies definitely to a single person. In general its considered to have a higher injury risk, but you cant know for sure whether you belong to those that can do it np. And apparently as cloudkicker said, puts unnecessary strain on the neck part of the spine.
