i told him to eat fruits with just as much sugar? are you ignorant, misinformed, a little bit of both?

people that spew incorrect information like you are the problem here.

Per 100 grams or 4 oz roughly:
Banana: 90 cals / 23 carbs / 12g sugar
Strawberry: 32 cals / 8 carbs / 5g sugar
Blackberries: 43 cals / 10 carbs / 5g sugar
Blueberries: 57 cals / 14 carbs / 10g sugar

not only are they all lower in calories, carbs, and sugar.. but diversification in a diet and quality foods are always a good thing.

Since they all have different cal intakes, it only makes since to normalize them if you're trying to actually compare product.

100g banana = 281g strawberry = 209g blackberries = 158g blueberries.

100g banana = 90 cals / 23 carbs / 12g sugar 52.2% sugar of carb intake, 53.3% sugar of cal intake
281g strawberries = 90 cals / 22.5 carbs / 14g sugar 62.2% sugar of both carb and cal intake
209g blackberries = 90 cals / 21 carbs / 10.4g sugar 49.7% sugar of carb intake, 46.4% sugar of cal intake
158 blueberries = 90 cals / 22.1g carbs / 15.8g sugar 71.5% sugar of carb intake, 70.2% sugar of cal intake

So no, they're actually are all higher in sugar than a banana, except blackberries which are pretty damn close.

This is the dumbest post ever.. 281gs of strawberries? Who eats 10 oz of strawberries in a single sitting, that's a whole container you would buy at a store in a single sitting. The average strawberry weighs like 12g so your example is like eating 23-25 strawberries.... That's realistic?

Why would you measure them on a per calorie basis? You measure foods on a per weight basis.. Like 4oz chicken vs 4oz ribeye. That just goes to prove my point, you have to eat 230-250 strawberries a day to equal the same amount of calories as 9-10 bananas. He's obviously going to be cutting back calories if he switches to berries and cuts the bananas back. Thus helping him lose weight.

Maybe your just talking about the actual fruits? I'm talking about he will naturally lower his sugar / carb and calorie consumption if he switches to berries

Yeah it's the dumbest post ever since you don't really count total cals / carbs / protein / fat in your weightloss meal regimen, you just look at non-comparative size servings and say they're comparable because nature made them so.

You also compare sugar per cal using different cal bases, and math is a fucking joke to you. You're a fucking god, mate.

E: and it doesn't matter, keep them exactly in your original serving sizes, the percentage of sugar from cals is still as I posted.

Cut your banana intake by half.

10 is extreme. 5 is better. If you have 5 main meals a day eat one per meal.

Even 5 bananas is a lot.

ok we're going on different topics here.

i get what your saying that "calorie for calorie" they have more sugar, just as many carbs, etc.

im saying, if he starts substituting bananas with berries he will end up eating less carbs, sugars, etc. because he just cant consume that many berries.

1 banana = 20+ strawberries... to get the similar amount of carbs... i doubt hes going to be eating 200+ strawberries a day which will thus have him consuming less carbs, which is obviously less calories, and will thus hopefully be a start to him eating in a calorie deficit.

thats dumb logic lol

compare them without the water, aka in terms of calories like lightman did

its not impossible to eat 20 strawberries instead of a banana and a large glass of water, it makes the same thing if the tummy, but u gotta chew more=more calories burned=more fat loss

Hyperkalemia = increased aldosterone secretion, resulting in metabolic alkalosis, increased nerve excitability resulting in cardiac arrythmias, among other things, and impaired insulin secretion resulting in hyperglycemia
