Seeing as the primary function of the lats is to pull the arms into the body, you're correct. I think heavy rows (usually a main accessory for deads) is the main lat builder here.

Deads are a decent trap exercise tho. Plus, doing deads actually gets me to work my traps as I hate doing shrugs.

Yup I've been doing lots of rows since I stopped deadlifting and man my back has gotten big. Rows have always helped my forearms too

overrated? just looking at the fking kines breakdown.
anyone who ever high repped deadlifts as a hamstring accessory will tell you it flares the lats like crazy

Never done high rep deads , only 5 or lower

But everyone's body responds to different things

Only got 10...but it was brutal :x

To my defense, the week before my deload i had a terrible flu that seemed to last forever..lost 5 lbs.

if you aren't doing a ton of accessory volume / it isn't very taxing on your CNS, and you are eating and sleeping enough, you can definitely push back your deload times

Thats what I figured. I'm eating right, still a novice by far, usually getting adequate rest.
