Can't he deadlift more than you while weighing like 50 pounds less?

Nice, I actually cut deadlifts from my routine as I felt it was hindering my progress, and my back has made insane progress. Although I was going to start deadlifting again on Sunday but I've injured my rotator cuff so I want to take it easy for this week.

I personally do something like this every week

Monday - Deadlift and OHP with accessory exercises for OHP and pullups, lots of pullups.
Tuesday - Back Squat/ Front Squat (Just started as I was a typical bro my first year and ignored squat badly.. ) and Bench with accesory exercises for bench (Weighted dips , incline )
Wednesday -Break
Thursday - Deadlift and OHP with accessory exercises for OHP and pullups, lots of pullups.
Friday - Back Squat/ Front Squat (Just started as I was a typical bro my first year and ignored squat badly.. ) and Bench with accesory exercises for bench (Weighted dips , more focus on triceps)
Saturday - Active - Usually give my biceps a bit of attention and some of those glute ham raises.
Sunday - Rest

Things i know i lack, I do 0 ab work.... I just kind of bank on my squats and dead lifts to take care of my core.

Is all of this optimal.. I have no idea , but it keeps me going and i truly enjoy it. I am at the gym for 2 hours at a time.

- I think max is pretty strong considering he also has not trained for to many years and he sits at like 165. Pretty strong imo.

Chalk > Overhand > Alt. Hand > Straps

Use em if youre really really struggling.

I really dont understand why gym equiptment is associated with weakness. They are there to assist and prevent injuries on lifts you wouldnt be normally able to do.

It's interesting to see that your OHP press isn't too high. I'm currently benching 215 for 3 reps, but can only do 115 for about 5 reps of OHP. So I'm in the same boat as you.

What I'm noticing though , with almost all my compound press movements is that my left arm seems to be doing all the work because I feel it 10x more in my left side then my right side, so it's my left side that's always getting gased...

I think this is because I injrued my right shoulder.

I didn't start doing OHP till i started doing this program. I am finding it by far the hardest lift to make any headway at all on, 2.5 pound increases seems like I am pushing the world. I have a goal to reach my body weight.

I did do seated shoulder press though in that typical bro split I was doing. Which I now do as an accessory.

Keep lying. You aren't deadlifting 405 for reps after 1 year of zero training in a year . Guys like omarisuf are just recently hitting 525 for one rep and he's been lifting for YEARS

I pulled 360 easily my first time deadlifting @ 16 or 17 years old so his claims of 400+ after a year arent unrealistic to me

I'm considering adding seated dumbell press , maybe my left side wouldnt get burned out so much this way. I just really want to hit a 135 OHP for reps. I've only seen like one person ever OHP a plate at the gym lol.

I can get 135 for four reps but only on one set. I do 5x5 but can only do that on one set and it is an absolute struggle. I don't lean back but my body shakes like crazy. I started with DB everything because i was so imbalanced for the first month or so.

I use straps now, used to use hook grip. I would generally work up to 365x3 before my left hand grip would fail. With straps I haven't tried to max yet, but working set of 405x5 after slowly working up to in (did normal routine and kept adding 20 pounds). I would imagine I can do a bit more than that now, but straps really helped me. I am now following a program where I won't be doing heavy deads for a few months, but the straps really helped me a ton, and I felt more of a forearm burn and soreness afterword while using them over not using them.

Edit: I also use double overhand same as another guy in here. Used to use hook grip but when my left grip would fail it would tear off the same callus each time.
