not necessarily straight forward, but no more than 15 degrees out.
i squat like that very regularly and have instructed individuals with knee pain to squat like that and their pain resolved within a week or two.
i dont care if you dont believe me but its based on very basic physics/biomechanics. the further out your toes point, the more prone your ankle is to collapse and the greater the valgus force on the knee.
it makes perfect sense. i feel no obligation to convince you, enjoy your bum knees dude
e: elliot is a terrible source of info btw
Thank you man. I tried today toes forward and I actually could do it.
I only can't do toes straight forward without weight because I have to compensate for having no weight and lean forward a ton.
It was way easier on my ankles especially. Lately with all these ankle injuries I had been having ankle pain when I squatted especially if I was not very warmed up. Toes forward I had no pain.
