Also been reading online and I've been ignorant to the idea that I eat a lot. Turns out I should be eating 4-6 times a day to gain muscle. I been eating 3-4 times a day of junk (fast food) a day with fast metabolism. No wonder I haven't gained any weight in years. Because to me, that was the idea of eating a lot lol.
I've never used an app, just googled certain things for their caloric value, or look at the packaging on the items you buy.
Well it doesn't matter too much about having a quantity of meals, as long as you get the amount of calories needed to put on weight. But the easiest way for hardgainers to do this is to eat 5 or 6 times a day - that's what I do because my stomach can't take over 800-1000 calories at a time.
I'd also get the idea of a "fast metabolism" out of your head, because I think people overstate its importance and use it as an excuse. I was 130 lbs at 17, I'm 20 and 158-160 now, so I know what it's like being skinny, and I still want to put on another 10 lbs in the next few months. I put on the majority of my weight when I just ate more, it's difficult but worth it. I'd recommend high calorie protein shakes like mutant mass if you struggle with getting all the calories in
