Joints are all about chronic superloads rather than acute lifts.

You lift 500 lbs once, twice, thrice.. or lift 50lbs*3km which is near 200,000lbs

Lets say i do 15-20 000 lb of volume in a squat training. It is over the full range of motion and the time under tension is much greater than the barely flexed knees when you walk with the weight on your back.

Make sense?

After having to spend nearly a full week in the woods without ever being allowed to take off a 40lb vest (including resting/sleeping, not that we slept for more than 15 minutes at any given time anyways)...

I'm never gonna put on a vest again for the rest of my life :baby:

the tut is actually much smaller since you rest between sets in your anaerobic wkout, whilst you walk/run constantly. The rom part is true but remember the joints themselves undergo the most pressure when at full compressory angle. in legs' case, standing-walking-running angles. so as far as joint health goes, running/hiking with a vest is the worst.

Dont forget to mention the impact effect on the synovial fluid in the knee..

Saw a guy in the gym, was wearing a 40 pound vest and doing squats in the rack.

Wanted to tell him to take off the vest and put 40 more pounds on the damn bar.

IDIOTS

Not to mention he was doing half squats for 30 minutes
