I know weight is going to factor in eventually but say I've been grappling for 20 years 4 times a week and I'm 170 lbs if I grapple a 200 lb person who has never done so, I'll win.

Same situation vs a 250lb person I'll still lose

As far as I'm concerned, size is completely relative. If you talk shit to people who are obviously bigger than you, then expect to get shit back at you. ~175 isn't scrawn - that is like the normal/average size of males. Now, one of my other friends is unhealthily small at 6'3"-6'4" and 135lbs.

Through college, I was always the scrawn among my thrower teammates and regularly got short jokes from them because of it haha.
One year they were:
A - 6'5" 330
J - 6'5" 240
J - 6'3" 270
E - 6'8" 230
G - 6'0" 240
J - 6'3" 260
B - 6'4" 230
then me, at 5'11" 235...even my coach is 6'4" 270 lol

I just made an observation that I was 100lbs heavier than you (when I thought you were 135), and my friend is 100lbs heavier than me. I didn't say that was a good or bad thing haha.

If you are 170 and have been grappling that long and can't beat a 250 lb guy who doesn't have, or even has experience, you are bad. I'm 6'5" 242 and have grappled good grapplers. I was 6'5 260 at the time and got toyed with by someone who was about 5'9 175ish. Guy could beat 20 rangers in a row starting lightest to heaviest (guys bigger than me). Weight definitely plays a role, but skill with trump weight in grappling. Other fighting is a bit different though.

Actually that statement still holds very true.

I was squatting 700 lbs 2 years ago and I still bike every day. He would not lift my leg off the ground. Extra layer on my belly or not.
