let's do some bodyweight benching contests or something? Or maybe a number of different events people can enter into and compete against each other. i remember we did it before.

We basically had a call out thread, where you could choose someone you wanted to compete against in the forum. That was pretty cool

That sounds fun. I don't think there's anyone at my level though, pretty much everyone is much stronger.

Wasn't there a 1.5x or 2x bodyweight DL contest sometime back?

but then you really need to take in height consideration for lifts.

purely comparing weight isn't fair.

5'0" dude weighing 200 vs 6'0" weighing 200. if they bench the same, going to be much more impressive from the guy who is 6'0"

Agreed, and the amount of offset would vary between lifts. For example I think being tall with long arms makes it harder proportionally to bench than to DL.

That's why competing directly against ppl you know are close to you would make more sense.

or start some HNF challenges or other fun things?

I tried to get a challenge thing going a while ago. Problem with challenges is weight-lifting takes months to see gains and go up in weight and thats too long for a challenge.

don't forget though that the taller guy could be inherently stronger because of proportionally increasing leverage via insertions. So in the end, a taller guy isn't that "disadvantaged" in general. It comes down to the body proportions and weight distribution of the individual. There are tall people with short arms and short people with long arms etc.
