ik ik i just cant help myself. i argue with my roommates for hours over the most trivial things. i should be a lawyer

Think you would be good at it. Don't get me wrong I love a good fucking debate, but both parties need to be on an equal level for it to even be slightly enjoyable, and in this case I don't see that happening.

Also side note, my gym buddy is actually from London and is there right now. Small fucking world man.

you act like our understanding of the human body has been revolutionized in the last few years. 10+ reps per set has always produced a lot of lactate and chewed through glycogen in high volume workouts, its not a good idea to try to combine that rep scheme with a low carb diet where you cant recover energy stores quick enough for the next bout of training

Sure it has been known but not commonly known before 5+ years ago.

And who said anything about a low carb diet? Of course tons of burnout sets etc is not optimal on a keto diet.

You act like, indeed, 5 years ago, people didn't advocate ketosis nor high reps.

I still agree with what Kramer said. He helps a fucking trizillion people with the most basic and annoying shit for years, for free, and people can't stop jumping on his dick.

No one in this thread said he didn't, just that his advice in this case and many others isn't necessarily the most scientifically sound, you know trying to promote truths and shit.

but still in terms of muscle preservation I'd assume high reps > no training.

I've voiced my opinion about Raynor before and he can be helpful on a basic level but on another hand be detrimental/counter productive.
I jst wish he wld be more open minded. -_-

id be interested in testing that theory but imo its entirely possible that the damage done during LA accumulation might be worse than the lack of stimulus. protein catabolism makes up a very minute portion of daily kcal expenditure, the pathway really just isnt there without starvation conditions. if eating at maintenance, even without working out, you'll tend to notice max effort does not really decrease rapidly with detraining, its generally the energy systems that degrade. after the summer break i found i could still squat and deadlift ~ 300lbs, similar to before break, however not for reps and i couldnt move 225 nearly as many times as before
