I know this is a stupid question, but do you have any proof of this? (that isn't in Russian)

Very stupid question.

Do those long term effects come from dosing every single day for 3-6+ months? I've done a little reading into nootropics and was intrigued enough by some anecdotal evidence to give it a try. Some people said they had a noticeable effect their first time at certain doses and they felt an improvement in memory. Obviously word of mouth isn't always the best way to do research but after some reading and a little research of my own I actually gave it a try at a few different doses along with choline and really didn't notice a thing.

I'm very intrigued in ways we can improve memory enhancement but I'd like there to be more long term studies on piracetam in healthy individuals before I go consuming a supplement for 6+ months. Long term adverse effects are especially what would worry me. I can't say I've looked into lions mane though. Looks interesting too.

Here we go again. People who can't into neuroscience are recommending brain-altering chemical substances to others who can't into neuroscience.

This thread pops up a couple of times a year, and as I always state I will repeat again:

Do not take nootropics. Do not attempt to consume anything that will have a profound effect on either your neurotransmitters or their synapses.

If you don't know what you are doing, there is a likelihood that you will cause permanent damage to your brain (or in more serious cases, you will die).

The reasoning is: Nootropics strongly interact with certain everyday substances, a large consumption of aforementioned substances will lead to brain damage, an extreme consumption will lead to death.

But as always, do as you will, I actually wouldn't mind if a majority of you permanently logged off (it just so happens that the majority coincidences with people who won't take my advice).

Not a single bit of proof was provided.

Throw up some information on these nootropics mentioned, by all means.

And if you're talking about alcohol then yes.

Do not take nootropics with alcohol.

@hysteria: on my phone ill answer you as best as I can soon.

They safest things on that list are no doubt the lions mane (mycelium) and choline. But by definition nootropics have very few if any side effects.

I've tried all of those along with a couple other nootrophics. I'd have to say many are a waste of time as far as bang for you buck. However, there are a few worthwhile ones. The ones I notice significant increases in mental clarity and speed are Pramiracetam (very expensive) and Noopept. Piracetam worked very well at increasing my creativity with mega doses (9g+ daily); I always had an overflow of ideas for everything. I've recently started a deprenyl regime that has increased my motivation and focus a lot, however this is a pharmaceutical and not a supplement.

It's available by prescription only, but is unscheduled in the United States. Possession is not illegal even without a prescription, so you can just order it online from other countries.

Meh, seems pretty interesting but I honestly feel like it would be a waste....better off forming better study habits instead of pumping extra chemicals into your body..

Any foods that naturally give off the same benefits as nootropics? Mycelium is a fungus, choline is in meat and fish, etc. etc. any advice on this?
