Squats is a much better exercise.. it works your entire body and only deads can compare to it..

Leg press is a good leg exercise.. but that's about it. its pretty cool that you can use a lot of weight though, I do nearly 1000 lbs :P

Speaking of 1k leg presses. I just saw some dude today that had 13x 45 pounders on each side. Literally couldn't put another weight on. And dude was knocking em out. Was beastly. And no it wasn't me.... he does do amateur bb though.

Never said they were, but I'm simply stating that there's no point in taking the alternative method, unless you truly need to. Nothing is a "must" when it comes to lifting. You can get big and strong by doing the most ridiculous shit in the world, because ultimately, it comes down to progressive overload. All I'm trying to push forward is that it recruits the hams and glutes more-so than leg press, which would make it more ideal, no? Also, I believe there are more risks with a leg press, anyways. As for not being built for a squat, I have yet to meet anyone who isn't.

what?
my post had nothing to do with you nor your links
was simply for the OP & to contribute to thread.

@ OP - If you read the article, I hope u also caught the part on using 1 leg/@ time when performing leg press.
this may help you if you're thinking about purchasing a leg press (If I understood ur post correctly about "my gym")
and not needing 20+ 45lb plates for an effective workout :P

Not going to give the usual response if blah bah squats are better

Because OP asked what the feeling is like

The feeling is being able to push yourself harder than you can with squats, because you are safe (kinda) and in a secure position, nn worry about form, nn worry about balance, nn worry about failure (kinda)

And u can push heavy ass weight an will leave you breathless if you're going hard enough

how much do u squat for a single and dl

I haven't ever maxed in any of them, but 2 weeks ago or so I tried to go more to the end with my squats (I don't like the idea of going till fail in squats) and did 3x265 front squat (I don't know if I could have done some more), and after that I kind of maxed in deadlift with 2x400~ lbs. I might take a little more, of course, because I maxed in dl after 4 previous sets of dl and 10 of squats, but whatever.

I would still suggest incorporating strength work, brah.

I have been doing for some more than a month some strength training, and improved my main lifts, especially the bench press.

Yes, I read it, and if I finally get to gather as much money I need and I buy it, I'll put that to practice. I liked what they said that it helps you not to arch your back :)

Yesterday I trained squats doing like... 10-12 x 180 lbs or so, and with about 45~segs between sets. My max has to be at around 270-280 for front squat. As you can see, the real challenge here is the volume of work and the speed at which you do it rather than the intensity or strength required.

Yes, that's some of the things I had in mind, and which also makes me want to buy a leg press... If I finally do it I'll tell you about the experience training with it, and I might even consider do 1 progress log thread^

Thanks to everybody <3

Because I train at home, and I'm not going to think of getting a leg press even without weighing it out a lot before, and having more opinion from as much people as I can :)

How is your shoulder? Did the doctor tell you anything new yesterday? Hope you're getting better mate <3
