sigh.

medical school is ripping me.

anyway - its not a good idea...bad for spinal alignment, joints, and ligaments/tendons...do not recommend.

Really? Can't you just get your body to adapt? If we look at it that way isn't lifting in general bad for all of those (mainly joints) as well? Really curious about this by the way. And would you say walking around with dumbbells also has a negative impact on your body?

Hey,
i was wondering this is what im taking right now
1.GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Wheybolic Extreme 60™ - Chocolate

2.GNC Pro Performance® AMP Amplified Creatine 189™

3. fishoil

4. and mens sport vita pills

when would i take the creatine?
and also i was planning on getting muscle mik but the guy didnt let me he almost forced me to buy the amp wheybolic is it better then monster milk?

thanks

creatine in the morning w/ grape or apple juice and pre or post workout with grape or apple juice.

as for muscle milk/monster milk....monster milk is overpriced.

muscle milk is good for bulking....if you are trying to bulk...go for it.

wheybolic is a cleaner protein supplement used primarily for cutting....if you are trying to bulk up, switch to muscle milk...if you are cutting or lean bulking stick to the wheybolic

negative. the reason for this is that when you are running with dumbbells in hand...you are performing a motion that is unnatural to the body for an EXTENDED period of time.

consider this.

a lift of 20 reps of a particular exercise takes approximately 20-40 seconds. then comes a period of REST.

the different with cardio + dumbbells is that when you are running for a good 15-20 minutes MINUMUM...you are putting tons of stress on those joints/ligaments/tendons the whole time. This causes tons of damage in which your body doesn't have the chance to repair.

AVOID.

I see, how about running for a minute or two?

Edit: Multiple times, like sets for examples.

is it too much cardio to do this

15 minutes bike
30 minutes dumbbell
1 hour treadmill
@ 8am

30 minutes jump rope
15 minutes dumbbell
@ 2pm

45 minutes treamill
@ 8pm

I rest 2 days of do nothing every 7 days, and take no supplements on rest days except fish/multi/protein
if you were to switch things around, and help this schedule, what would you do?
I'm a beginner

that would probably be fine...but I fail to see the point of doing that compared with a regular workout routine + cardio afterwards

edit:

what exactly are you trying to accomplish by using dumbbells during cardio? maybe I can help with whatever you have in mind.

first of all, what are your goals?

secondly, what do you mean by dumbbell? You mean various exercises with dumbbells? What exercises do you do?

also, do you have access to a gym?

cook it with water, and add a splash of milk for flavor and to loosen it up.

what are the benefits of cooking with water instead of milk? im talking bout bout 1 glass of milk or water plus 100 gr oatmeal

my goal is lifting 395lb @ 180lb in 3 years (: I want to burn excess fat, and build muscles overall being healthier
I recently quit smoking + drinking so that is why I am trying to gain my cardio and stamina with endurance training
by dumbbell I mean various nubile exercises, yes mostly arms and upper body
I forgot to add that I stretch before also
I'm looking at all the dumbbell exercises on bb.com and I could be telling you the wrong things that I do
basically I am doing about 8 different exercises with maybe 2 sets of 6-8 reps
I could go to a gym yeah,, (: there are 4 or 5 within walking distance, but I think that before I hit the gym with the monthly fees and probably the first 6 months or so I'd just be doing the things I do already on a daily basis at home, so I thought I'd just save $ but the problem is I don't really know exactly what I'm doing
I was curious to see if that schedule is hurting my body more than building it?
more importantly I wanted to get some advice on a completely new basic muscle building schedule with dumbbells exercises
I could just keep the other cardio exercises as a primary goal to do at least 1 hour every day, mix-n-match
and I could add other core exercises also.
what I don't want to do is focus on my own dumbbell exercises with some very bad schedule/technique and mess up my arms+upper body before I hit the gym to start lifting heavier weights.
