Bench seems to have stalled out on my 5/3/1, think I should deload?

See the bench section in beyong 5/3/1. There are many ways to get out of this.

the simplest would be to figure out a new max and start over after a deload. What rep max did you hit on what week?

I'm 8 weeks in, been stuck at 325 for 1 for the last two weeks
By that I mean I hit the 1 rep max I had set, but when I retested my max it was the same

You could also run a cycle of smolov jr which is one of my favorite specialisation prog for bench. I'll be running it the the 3rd time before my meet.

Would I do the smolov as an add on to the 5/3/1 or how would it work?

Run smolov 4 days a week. You stop the pressing and any pressing assistance for the month you are doing it (3 weeks + the deload). Keep dead and squat as it is.

here are your weights

enjoy :)

Week 1:
6*6 225
7*5 245
8*4 260
10*3 275

Week 2:
6*6 235
7*5 255
8*4 270
10*3 285

Week 3: (you can also increase by 10 but I feel it's overkill)
6*6 240
7*5 260
8*4 275
10*3 290

Week 4:
deload like 5-6 days a get a new PR
