I read some of the posts in here and just kind of wanted to throw my two cents in.

Lifting is filled with by far, the biggest amount of bitches. Never have I ever been involved in a sport that has had more people worried about others than with lifting. Way too much insecurity.

This forum is filled with a decent amount of knowledgeable people, but there are a couple of groups who fight each other because of their egos and it just got old for me.

Yes I am an inexperienced lifter who has a ton of dumb questions because I literally have nothing to learn from except the internet and the people here. When people give you shit over and over again, it just gets annoying and pushes people away from the sport. All of that and my ongoing health problems, it just basically turned me away from lifting. I first started lifting to get my mind off of a breakup and I came here to progress and there were definitely a few of you who kept me wanting to go back and make gains. I went for 6 months straight and enjoyed every second of it until I got sick and lost everything. My goal was to catch Ethan because we were about the same size and he had just started a few months before me. It completely motivated me and I always came back to the HnF for that competitive feeling.

The feeling of comradery from this subforum has basically all but gone and there isn't much left except ego wars and people who have way too much time on their hands to post about stupid shit.

My bench press is finally up a bit so I'll try my luck this sunday @ about 125 lb. If I'm not mistaken the contest ends on monday and the current leader is Deathbv at 40 reps?
