Also here's the problem with Olympia winners. They don't dethrone a champ unless the guy in 2nd place is MUCH better than #1.
I missed kai drying out apparently. So hopefully he looks fucking amazing tonight.
Based on last night's insane turn-around it's going to be interesting but, grapefruit & crazy weird anger at press conference aside, Kai looked clearly ahead of Phil.
I disagree with the idea that anyone else crept ahead of Phil though. Rhoden got way better as the night progressed but he just isn't ready to beat Phil. Wolfy got better too but I think Rhoden actually snuck up and sniped 3rd from him.
If Kai or Phil got 3rd, Olympia is forever broken.
If Kai beats Phil he's going to be an assh*le about it to Phil, whether it's right away or next year. But probably right away, and it will distance me a little from being a big fan of his.
If Phil beats Kai, it will be a huge steal (bigger than 2012 or 2013, although I think Phil nailed it last year) and he will cry about his father on stage.
Probably the biggest mystery for me is why Phil didn't make a major improvement over last year; or even why he probably got worse. I can't see him banking on Kai screwing up his prep 3 years in a row. He needs to change something to stay on top. His legs aren't great but that shouldn't hurt him, so he's got to pop more somewhere. Either overtake on genetic back or get bigger bellies in the chest?
I see Rhoden taking it next year if he can figure out what bodybuilding is. He's the next clear gift. Then maybe Ramy if he forms up in the next few years.
